Now in its second year, the Penistone Film Festival is returning to the Penistone Paramount and St. John the Baptist Church to bring you a three-day celebration of the world of film including original films, silent masterpieces and cult classics, alongside unique events that everyone can get involved with.
Whether you are a film fanatic or interested in trying something new in a welcoming and inclusive environment, join us from Friday 16th October to Sunday 18th October for an unforgettable weekend of celebrating the beauty and creativity of cinema including the genius of Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and contemporary filmmakers from around the world. Wonderful films featuring these icons and many more will be screened at the historic Penistone Paramount cinema.
The festival is welcoming submissions to their awards categories from local and internationally-based filmmakers and students, and are honoured to have an extremely knowledgeable and esteemed panel of judges supporting the festival including David Arquette, Adam Sigal, Ruby Barker, Andy Quin, Tony Currie, Wizard Keen and The British Stunt Register.
The weekend will conclude with a spectacular awards ceremony and gala dinner with immersive entertainment at St. John the Baptist Church, followed by an electrifying and unique afterparty performance by the social media sensation Reductio. In his act, organ music and electronic dance music are woven together for a one of a kind experience in one of Penistone’s most beautiful historic buildings.

From screenings of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari to Harold Lloyd shorts to Buster Keaton’s Battling Butler, on top of Q&As, short film competitions and even a meal, it’ll be a jam-packed weekend.
