Christopher Nolan could well be considered the hottest director in Hollywood right now, and the filmmaker has an exceptional record of critically acclaimed films under his belt. The Odyssey was his latest offering, and also his most commercially successful to date.
Now, talk is turning towards what the cinematic icon could be working on next. However, he recently stated in an interview that he is planning to have an extended break before his next title.
The Odyssey is Nolan’s Most Successful Film to Date
The Odyssey is officially Nolan’s most successful film, raking in more than $1.6 billion at the global box office. Many expected the picture to be his most lucrative ever, as there’s a widespread amount of interest in Greek mythology across entertainment.
This is seen across both television and gaming, where there have been various popular Greek-themed offerings in recent years. These include Kaos on Netflix, which offers a completely different take on the mythology. That’s understandable, as it was reported that the cast and crew went to great lengths to produce authentic, believable scenes.
