In honour of Darren’s self-professed bizarre love of talking animal movies and with Zookeeper hitting UK screens this week, I thought it best to find out what our readers think is the absolute best talking animal film. I’ve not included fully animated films or animal thinking films, just ones set in the ‘real world’ where the animals are shown to be speaking.

As ever put your thoughts in the comments section.

So… um… Lion King? What – no animated movies? Do aliens count? Critters are kinda like animals right? No? Um… how about MUTATED animals? The Ninja Turtles? No? Damn… Surely I can count CONGO? FFFFF—–

Sorry Daz, I just can’t think of any “talking animals” movie that I actually enjoyed… Gonna hafta go with Cats & Dogs just cos I remember seeing it… but can’t remember anything about it, surely that’s a plus, right?

Nope no animated movies – just live action movies with humans and animals together where the animals talk.

Don’t know about mutant animals or those with stupid devices strapped to them that allow them to communicate, maybe you could class them I guess.
