Hey guys quick question, What do you get if you mix together real time strategy and tower defence? you get this wonderful gem of a game. I must admit that I am a massive fan of the real time strategy genre, with the first game I ever completed being Command and Conquer and also love tower defense games which I will admit I mainly play as a quick pick up and play game genre. A prime example of tower defence games is defence grid. As I played this game both of these examples popped into my head and I will admit I would never have thought that I would like  something that amalgamates the two together. I am going to try and focus on the pro’s and con’s of this game

PROS: This is going to be the easiest part of his review for me to do as I will admit that this was a really enjoyable experience to play this game. The controls were easy to use and really quite responsive.  The enemies were varied and had me working out different tactics to accommodate an ever increasing difficulty curve that had me frustrated towards later levels. It is one of those ever increasing popular games patterns of easy to learn but difficult to master games. The characters are diverse and even funny at times. I also liked the cartoony style that is used with the bright colours and silly phrases. The Hud was well built and the bit I like most is that it is not over cluttered which I have seen so many games fall into that trap. It can be a total killer for a game and this one managed to find the balance to the information required and not cluttering up what is valuable screen space. All in all it is a well balanced experience that can be very enjoyable for people of all ages.

CONS: This is the one part of the review that I hate doing especially on a game like this that you can see was built with a lot of love and dedication to the project. You can see how much work went into this from the moment you boot it up. Luckily for me there are only two things I can think of as con’s. These are merely nitpicks that you will easily get used which are the speed of the resource collections and the frequency of the defence sections. it will take some time to get used to the fact that you are basically playing two different genres in one game.

This game is well worth picking up and adding to your collections as a good pick up and play game. I look forward to seeing how not only the game progresses but also the studio, ActaLogic and I must admit that I am looking forward to picking up a copy of their other game titled Industry Manager which if they have put as much work into it as they have this will be amazing. I hope you enjoy this game.

I love to watch films or play videogames. When i'm not doing that i'm probably asleep. So when the chance to review here arose it was a no brainer.
