The Hangover Part II
Director: Todd Phillips
Starring: Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms
There’s not much to talk about for this trailer, it’s only a teaser. It reveals the sequel’s Bangkok location at least, but spends most of the time praising the first film. I must admit I haven’t seen The Hangover yet, so I don’t have an opinion on this, but I imagine a lot of people are excited about it.
Captain America
Director: Joe Johnston
Starring: Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving and Hayley Atwell
I’m pretty tired of superhero films these days and Captain America is not a franchise that appeals to me so I’m not amazingly excited by this. The World War II setting might make for a more original take on the genre though and I was happy to see Stanley Tucci and Tommy Lee Jones in there, so it might surprise me.
Insidious
Director: James Wan
Starring: Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkins
Hmmmm… looks like textbook horror to me. If the frights are pulled off it could be an effective spooky night in, but my predictions are that this is going to be another forgettable entry to the genre that does ok on the rental market but barely registers at the cinema.
Plus, don’t they ruin the film with the ‘son’ line and what’s with the Darth Maul cameo?!
Apollo 18
Director: Gonzalo López-Gallego
Starring: Warren Christie and Lloyd Owen
This space-set horror looks more interesting. The trailer is very cheesy at times and these found footage films are getting a bit much now, but this looks to have an interesting visual aesthetic to it that is attempting to capture the look of the well-known footage seen on actual moon landings.
I’m intrigued at least.
