The script for the Alien prequel has just been delivered by Lost screenwriter Damon Lindelof and word is that the guys at 20th Century Fox love it. However, We expect what what they love most is the fact that it’s going to cost much less than Ridley Scott’s original proposed budget of $150m. Everybody loves a bargain don’t they?

Even if they’re more interested in money than creativity, it looks more and more likely that the lead role will go to Natalie Portman. She has officially met with Scott and his team for the role of “female colonial marine General”.

Lindelof’s script is said to be a sparse, creepy number that won’t involve too many giant action set pieces but will imitate the feeling of the original Alien film.
