Handyman and ex-con Arkin aims to repay a debt to his ex-wife by robbing his new employer’s country home. Unfortunately for Arkin, a far worse enemy has already laid claim to the property – and the family. As the seconds tick down to midnight, Arkin becomes a reluctant hero trapped by a masked “Collector” in a maze of lethal invention – the Spanish Inquisition as imagined by Rube Goldberg – while trying to rescue the very family he came to rob.

The Collector was made from the minds that brought you Saw four, five and six and with the amount of blood, gore and torture scenes in the movie, you could tell. The story was great when it started out and it remained like that throughout the movie until the end. The ending is probably the biggest disappointment of the movie as it was predictable and weak but this doesn’t really spoil the movie as the story and the scenes make up for it. The characters were mediocre and you didn’t care for some as much as you did others, however you did want the main character Arkin and the little girl Hannah to survive. The biggest bug, for me, was the killer himself, it left you asking questions that the movie didn’t answer at all and the biggest question was: Why was he there in the first place? There wasn’t really any character development throughout the movie, which is a shame because that probably would have helped the viewers to understand them a little more. The acting was pretty much average but the one actress that stood out to me was Karley Scott Collins who played the little girl Hannah, she has a bright future in acting for her as her performance was very believable. Josh Stewart as Arkin was great and played his part very well. The direction was okay and the writing and script was good, the plot is below average but it would have been a lot better if things were explained instead of leaving you confused. However I do believe that The Collector is a good horror movie and I am confident that horror fans will love this addition to the horror genre.

This is what you get if Saw II and Hostel came together. It’s an okay Buy Lasix Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed movie and the killer adds a lot of suspense and shock to the movie and could probably put some horror icons out there to shame but all-in-all, it’s just another horror movie that’s been done before. However, I do hope there is a sequel which explains and answers the questions asked from the movie and I really think the killer in this movie does have the potential to be a horror icon.

I would have given this a 7/10 but I felt a little letdown by the ending to a very good horror movie. Saw and Hostel fans will love this but if you don’t like blood or gore, then you might want to give this one a miss.
