Being a big gamer and a fan of the Mortal Kombat videogames, I always wondered what the movies were like (I watched it in the wrong order so I’m reviewing the second and then the first) and this has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I don’t even know how it got released!

Shao Khan, the Emperor of the Outworld, has opened the portal between the realm and Earth. If it remains open on the seventh day, all of mankind shall be destroyed. Now the Lightning God Rayden and four fighters- Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Princess Kitana and Jax, have six days to find a way to close the portal and save the Earth, battling the evil forces of the Outworld along the way.

This film is pretty much the meaning of the word ‘awful’. The story is average but in places, it is so boring and predictable that watching paint dry seems entertaining. The first movie had the tournament but without the tournament in the sequel, the makers of the movie had to find some way and some reason to make one-on-one combat scenes…and unfortunately came up with this. Each character goes off on their own path and each fighter just happens to have a bad guy each so they can Buy Bactrim Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed involve fight scenes. Pretty weak. Most of the acting is quite abysmal. The heroes are below average except for Sandra Hess who was great as Sonya but I can’t say the same for the villains as it was the worst acting I have ever seen!

The special effects looked like they were made by a toddler with no effort or thought involved whatsoever. The action sequences were unrealistic and executed quite poorly, it just reminded me of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (actually, Power Rangers had more believable fight sequences than Annihilation and that’s no joke). The direction and editing of the movie was poor and the ending wasn’t good either. The characters were a laughing stock and I could not care less for any of them…except maybe for Sonya but not for the rest.

All in all, avoid, avoid, AVOID! Fans of the game might like this sequel but I just didn’t see the fascination, the first is better by far and this should never have been released. A recipe for disaster!

A seriously bad cheesy movie that I don’t think anyone could watch without cringing. If you still want to watch this movie, be warned, you’re in for the longest hour and a half of your life!
