Christine Brown is an ambitious L.A. loan officer with a charming boyfriend, Professor Clay Dalton. Life is good until the mysterious Mrs. Ganush arrives at the bank to beg for an extension on her home loan. Should Christine follow her instincts and give the old woman a break? Or should she deny the extension to impress her boss, Mr. Jacks and get a leg-up on a promotion? Christine fatefully chooses the latter, shaming Mrs. Ganush and dispossessing her of her home. In retaliation, the old woman places the powerful curse of the Lamia on Christine, transforming her life into a living hell. Haunted by an evil spirit and misunderstood by a skeptical boyfriend, she seeks the aid of seer Rham Jas to save her soul from eternal damnation. To help the shattered Christine return her life to normal, the psychic sets her on a frantic course to reverse the spell. As evil forces close in, Christine must face the unthinkable: how far will she go to break free of the curse?

Drag Me To Hell is written and directed by none other than the man behind Evil Dead, Sam Raimi but should this movie go to horror heaven or in the depths of Hell? The story is quite an entertaining one and has some good, solid parts however there were a couple of parts in the movie which let it down a little. The characters were written well as you followed the tormented Christine, hoping she’ll find a way to avoid her nightmare from Hell…literally. Alison Lohman was brilliant as she gave out a great performance as Christine, Justin Long also did a great job as her boyfriend, Clay. The writing was very well done but there were a couple of plot holes that couldn’t be ignored. The direction was great and the CGI was very well done and had made for some great viewing. The scary scenes were also well executed, there were a couple of scenes that made you jump out of your seat.

Drag Me To Hell is one of those movies that you must watch in the dark on your own. The movie itself has an eighties feel to it which I loved and the acting was very good, especially from Lorna Raver who Buy Lasix Online Pharmacy No Prescription Needed plays the creepy gypsy Mrs. Ganush. I really enjoyed this movie because I liked how it didn’t focus on gross-out gore to scare you but instead focused on jumping scenes and I thought that it made a nice change to what we normally see in horror movies today. There were one or two bugs that I had with the movie and I can’t really put them in my review because I would be spoiling the movie but it doesn’t really ruin the movie for you. Sam and Ivan Raimi have done a great job in making Drag Me To Hell and it really shows how much attention they had put in this movie. If you want to watch a horror movie that scares you the old-fashioned way with hardly any gore, then watch this. Also, Raimi fans will be pleased.

A great horror movie to watch in the dark by yourself. You’ll be jumping out of your skin!

I’m really surprised every loves this film so much. Your rating is probably the lowest I’ve seen and you gave it a reasonable score. I really didn’t like Drag Me To Hell though, I just found it painfully laboured. All the scares were pure textbook relying on obvious big musical cues rather than real tension, the acting was atrocious and the script was as clunky as you get. I realise it was supposed to be sort of tongue in cheek, but it didn’t really work for me.

Yeah same here, after hearing it was a return to Evil Dead form I thought it was going to be amazing, but I thought it was borderline awful. Similar reasons, just the textbook scares – how many times does it do the ‘quiet, quiet, quiet LOUD BANG!!!!’. And tonally a bit of a mess, for me didn’t get the balance of scary and ridiculous right at all…

But yeah, most people loved it!

i also don’t get it – personally i’d gotten so fed up of her whining and squealing (and don’t even get me started on the scene with the dead body getting stuck on her chin!) i was glad when it ended and (spoiler) she got sucked into Hell. That’s what you get for being so damn annoying and predictable.

    Justin Long is cute though…
