Lending further support to Nintendo’s fledgling console publisher Activision has announced its multiformat Walking Dead game, based on the hit AMC TV show, is to be released on WiiU. This title is unrelated to Telltales Games’ episodic adventure of 2012 and follows in the (stumbling) footsteps of Ubisoft’s ZombiU.
Before legions of fans break into a cold sweat fearing a COD-ified experience developers Terminal Reality have promised a game far removed from the usual first person shooter; relying far less on gun play and more on stealth.
You’ll play as Daryl Dixon in the game as he and brother Marle try to find a way to safety in Atlanta in a story that will lead up to the events of season one. Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker, who play the characters in the show, will lend their talents for added authenticity.
Video of the game made the web a few weeks back but sadly the visuals underwhelmed – something Glenn Gamble of Terminal Reality has confirmed are already improved.
European WiiU owners will be able to get their severed hands on Walking Dead: Survival Instinct on March 29, 2013.
