Moneyball is hurled onto British screens in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd have the current poll and next fortnight's podcast theme be about sports movies. I've avoided documentaries (just because I was feeling lazy) and stuck with fiction (or based on true stories), throwing a couple of curveballs in there to avoid an obvious list of rags to riches underdog stories, but there are still many films missing from the list I imagine. As ever let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

No contest. I love The Wrestler and a couple of the others, but Raging Bull is just brilliant. It’s bleak as hell and isn’t a fun watch but it’s masterfully made.

I watched Friday Night Lights the other day and i have to say, i loved it. Didn’t think a film about american football would interest me… but i was wrong!

Wrestler was awesome and Rocky is fab… what about Whip it? that’s a sports movie!!

unnecessary roughness is where its at…. but there are so many great movies… tin cup, mighty ducks, rudy….. the list goes on and on. You chose a lot of films that dont even involve a real sport theme

I tried to keep it varied and not clog it with samey rags to riches stories, so chose a couple of ‘sort of sports’ movies to add to the mix – i.e The Hustler, Big Wednesday.
