Our podcasts Palm D'Or theme has crept into our haikus, along with the usual latest releases and whatever ninja film Dave's watched recently. Chris Matic continues his themed reviews, this time it's Will Farrell.

If you want to be updated throughout the month, then please follow our Twitter account @blueprintrev, and please feel free to tweet your own Haiku reviews (don't forget #haikureview) and we'll keep an eye out and re-tweet them; and of course post the best ones on this site.

WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY (Chris Matic)
Funny musical
With nods to known bios
Well written songs too

THE GOODS: LIVE HARD SELL HARD (Chris Matic)
Still watch 'Anchorman'?
Bored of watching 'Step Brothers'?
Watch this film instead

WOLFMAN (Chris Matic)
Impressive casting
Still can't stop this from being
a dog of a film

BLADES OF GLORY (Chris Matic)
Titter-worthy flick
But Heder just can't compete
with Will's impro skills

TALLADEGA NIGHTS (Chris Matic)
Sub-par comedy
With Will Ferrell's ego
Going round and round

40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN (Chris Matic)
Some unscripted laughs
that is genuinely sweet,
Apatow's star shines

HOUSESITTER (Chris Matic)
Do you remember
When Steve Martin was funny?
It was before this.

CLUE (Chris Matic)
If there's a film where
Tim Curry could be more gay
it's 'Rocky Horror'

RINGU (Chris Matic)
Superior chills
And a terrific ending
You SHOULD watch this vid

OCEANS 11 (Chris Matic)
Clooney & co show
that making a slick caper
is cool ... VEGAS STYLE!

TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN (Roger Santen)
Transformers was bad
But revenge of the fallen?
Mind numbingly bad

ANTICHRIST (Roger Santen)
Pretentious cunt helms
the cuts make me want to kill
I liked the fox though

@darrenleebolton

HANNA
Cheesy story and
Music video action
Kill glimmers of hope.

13 ASSASSINS
Slow, but engrossing
Builds to disappointing end.
Kill, stab, blood, death, DULL!

BARTON FINK
Coens at their best
David Lynch for the main-stream
Witty, fresh and dense!

DANCER IN THE DARK
I hope Von Trier
Dies slowly and painfully
Like this made me feel

ATTACK THE BLOCK
No positives here.
My ears are still bleeding
From the dialogue

@shooting_fish

APOCALYPSE NOW
Stunning film. Speechless.
Vivid, searing, hyperreal:
like watching a dream.

MARY AND MAX
Aussie claymation.
Gorgeous, charming, compelling;
An utter delight.

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
I love Meryl Streep
Anna Wintour biopic
Who cares - real good fun

ATTACK THE BLOCK
B-movie homage
Slightly dodgy ghetto script
Pacey, daft, Good fun.

@dave_or_did

BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN
A revolution
Both on screen and behind it
Fine craft at it's best

THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY
Loach on his soapbox
Often powerful viewing
But too bluntly so

HANNA
Fresh take on genre
Über stylish action scenes
No substance - who cares

LET ME IN
Effective remake
Hindsight fixes minor flaws
Yet scares less graceful

Our favourite (other) Haiku Reviewer

@dirtyvicar

BIUTIFUL
Oppressively bleak.
These poor souls can’t find beauty
let alone spell it.

GNOMEO AND JULIET
Here’s what would happen
if Shakespeare and Elton John
had a brain-dead child.

RITE
Your head will spin ’round
possessed by boredom, hellbent
on something less dull.

    I think you’ll find I watched some pretty classy films this week! Although I did actually watch a cheesy martial arts movie that I didn’t do a Haiku for – expect a full review soon 🙂
